Subtract Double-Digit Numbers with Regrouping using Base 10 Discs 2-34

Use Base 10 discs to model subtraction regrouping problems. What's 45–16? 45 is 40 and 5. 16 is 10 and 6. There are not enough ones, so shift ten. "Forty-five" becomes "thirty-fifteen." Since 30-10 = 20, 15-6 = 9, and 20+9 = 29, 45-16 = 29. Find and add the partial differences to get the total difference.
