Use the grouping model to divide. Interpret the divisor as the size of each group, not the number of groups. What's 8÷4? What's 8 divided into equal groups of 4? Multiply or add to find how many groups of 4 are in 8. Since 2x4 = 4+4 = 8, 8÷4 = 2. Use an ellipsis to model an unknown number of groups with a bar model.
