Multiply 2 to 5 Groups with Area Models 3-90

Use rectangles partitioned into unit squares to multiply equal groups. What's 3x5? It's 3 rows with 5 unit squares in each row. How many unit squares in all? Find and add partial areas to get the total area. 3 rows is 2 rows and 1 row, so 3x5 = 2x5 + 1x5 = 10+5 = 15. There are 15 unit squares in all – the area of the rectangle.
