Divide by 2-Digit Divisors using the Partial Quotients Algorithm 5-27

Begin the transition to vertical algorithms. What's 384÷16? First divide 320, an easier multiple of 16. 320÷16 = 20, so write the partial quotient 20 on the right. Subtract and divide what's left. 384-320 = 64, and 64÷16 = 4. Write the partial quotient 4 on the right. Add the partial quotients to get the total quotient. 384÷16 = 24.
